With a value of more than 488 billion euros and with customers in almost every corner of the planet, Apple, is placed again in the first position, in addition to having been its best fiscal year in history.It is closely followed by Alphabet, whose main subsidiary is Google with 448 billion euros. In third place, and down one place compared to the 2015 ranking, is Microsoft. The podium is completed by the North American oil company Exxon Mobil.

By country, the dominance of the United States remains overwhelming, with 54 companies included among the 100 largest companies in the world. In fact, the 11 largest companies in the world have an American stamp. In second place is China with a total of 10 companies and in third place Great Britain with a total of 8 companies.

If you look at the sectors that make up the list, tech companies, banks and oil companies dominate, as well as fashion and pharmaceutical companies.

The first Spanish company in the ranking of world companies is Inditex, which is ranked 66. The rest of the companies that lead the Ibex 35 are outside the top 100 largest companies in the world.
