Although it is similar to what happens in company games, they are not subjected to mathematical models that measure, with great precision, the quality of the decisions that are carried out.
In this sense, we must know that company games, in addition to simulating a real situation, present the user with a series of information, which is controlled through mathematical models, with which the user interacts to make a series of decisions.
Origin of company games
Company games, taking into account their antecedents, find many similarities with war games. Some games that were played, around 3,000 BC, in countries such as India or China. These tried to simulate the development of a war, being able to anticipate the strategies.
For this reason, these began to be used again in the interwar period, with the First and Second World Wars. For this reason, its use extends to the business world, when in 1956 the first business management game was developed.
This game is developed thanks to the American Management Association (AMA), which creates Top Management Simulation.
Thus, we have countless company games, which are used by large companies and academic centers on a daily basis. These, like many other tools, allow progress in such interesting fields as business economics and their management.
