Here is a list of the largest banks in the world, according to their market capitalization in 2015. This year, the power of China is once again making itself felt in global finance.

The Chinese bank ICBC rises this year as the largest bank in the world with a value of 284 billion euros. It returns to the first position after surpassing the US bank Well Fargo, with which it has disputed the first position for two years.

Compared to last year, we can see how Chinese banks have risen positions against the US competition and have delegated the English bank HSBC to seventh place. The top ten of world banks by nationality has the same composition, with 4 US banks, 4 Chinese banks, a UK bank and the Australian Commonwealth bank.

The Spanish Banco Santander returns to the eleventh position in the world ranking of banks, with a market capital of 89 billion euros, closely followed by the Royal Bank of Canada and the Australian Westpac. The other large Spanish bank, BBVA, falls to position number 29 with a capital of 56 billion euros.
